The SDA website has undergone a major facelift, but the changes are not just cosmetic! The new website will offer many online services for members.
Create your own username and password—When on the SDA Homepage you will see a section in the bottom right hand corner that says member login. Simply select “create new account” and once you are verified as a member you will have access to the member’s only information on the website!
Pay Membership Dues online—Now renew your membership or become a new member by filling out our online form. This will also allow you to pay with a credit card or mail in a check.
Purchase publications online—The SDA online store allows you to purchase an online version of the board member manual, laws notebook and personnel guidelines which will be immediately emailed to your computer after purchase.
Post free classified ads and job postings—SDA members can post job opportunities and information about equipment for sale in the SDA Classifieds. This is a free service for members! To create a classified ad, go to the “Resources” page and select “Member Classifieds” on the right hand side of the page. Click the link to create your own classified listing and fill out the information. Both SDA members and non-members will be able to see the classified you post.
Transparency Notices Viewable online—More than 1000 SDA members chose to use the SDA website to complete their transparency notice to meet the January 2010 deadline. Those notices are available to view by going to the “Resources” tab and selecting “Special District Transparency Information.”
Read the SDA Newsletter—Both the current issue of the newsletter and the newsletter archives are available for viewing online. The new website also allows the added benefit of a search function for past articles pertaining to the topic of interest.
Access the SDA Membership Directory—Now SDA members can use the online member directory to search for other district members and associate members. To find the Member Directory go to the “Resources” page and select “Member Directory” on the right hand side of the page.
Online training video available—The new website allows SDA to offer online training opportunities. The first opportunity, now available on the website, is Designated Election Official Training. Hosted by elections expert Micki Wadhams from Collins Cockrel & Cole PC, the video training covers topics including candidate nomination and election cancellation, mail ballot elections, TABOR elections, polling place elections, post election protocol and the Fair Campaign Practices Act.
SDA News Blog—The SDA News Blog will be your place to find the most current news regarding special districts and SDA. Check the blog frequently to stay up to date. You can also choose to follow the blog via RSS feed by clicking on the “Blog” section and finding the RSS feed button at the bottom of the page.
Registration for upcoming Events—The “Events” page will announce all upcoming workshops, conferences and training opportunities. You will find information about these events, and will be able to register for them online and submit an online payment if you choose to.
