Nutrient Quality and Treatment Requirements the subject of February 15 Lunch and Learn

Publication Date:
February, 2012

February’s Lunch and Learn program is a joint effort by Tetra Tech, Inc. and Metro Wastewater Reclamation District. Tetra Tech, Inc. is the sponsor of the program and they have invited Metro Wastewater Reclamation District to help present this lively “Discussion of Pre-Hearing Statements for CDPHE Regulations 31/85 – Nutrient Quality and Treatment Requirements.”

The February 15 program will provide the following:

  • A review of the December 2011 pre-hearing statement and those entities that requested party status submitted their pre-hearing statements in January 2012
  • A synopsis and round table discussion of the issues and alternatives to be presented to and considered by the Commission at its March hearing
  • The status of any proposed legislation to stop, delay, or alter the results of the rulemaking process will also be reviewed
  • The Water Quality Control Commission rulemaking hearing on nutrient management is scheduled for March 2012

Mark Maxwell of Tetra Tech, Inc. and Amy Woodis of the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District will “tag team” and focus on the technical considerations and the “political intrigue” of this highly controversial issue for Colorado and special districts.
