KUSA News Anchor Gregg Moss to Kick Off 2012 SDA Leadership Academy

2012 begins with an excitement, an expectation and the 2012 SDA Leadership Academy. In the world of special districts leaders come from all walks of life and often those leaders require mentoring, training or additional experience.

SDA believes that leadership development can be fostered throughout every level of an organization and we are here to help. To be part of the Academy you must be affiliated with a special district as a board member or an employee. Space is limited—some programs may be open to SDA’s general membership, however, don’t wait to complete your application and register for the kick off, go to www.sdaco.org guarantee your space.

SDA and its Leadership Academy partner, CU University Denver Buechner Institute for Governance School of Public Affairs will present and promote to the SDA membership a yearlong program covering four core areas of leadership for 2012.

SDA’s exciting Leadership Academy will begin with Gregg Moss, KUSA Channel 9 business reporter. Gregg will combine his knowledge of the Colorado economy with his self-deprecating humor and overview of business and ethics to present an interesting fun filled treat for an “insiders” glimpse into 2012.

Future presenters will include speakers from CU, the business community, recognized political leaders as well as experts from the special districts arena. These presentations will help participants think like a leader while they develop a network of resources through this elite academy.

The Academy will consist of four core competency areas to be presented during the course of a year. A participant will be eligible to receive a certificate of upon completion of the academy.

To receive a certificate/credit ten hours must be completed; with at least two hours in each core competency area during the calendar year of the Leadership Academy. Each participant must attend at least two hours in core competency areas.

  • Personnel/Supervisor H.R. Development
  • Board Development/Conflict Resolution
