Governor Ritter Opposes Amendment 60, 61 and Prop 101

In the Denver Post this morning, found HERE, Governor Ritter pledged his support of the campaign against Amendment 60, 61 and Prop 101, which will appear on the ballot this November. Ritter told the paper, “They are devastating to the state economy.” According the Post, the Governor will also voice his opposition of the ballot measures during every public speaking engagement from now until November.

Many business leaders are also concerned about the ramifications for the private sector. Reeves Brown, executive director from Club 20 was quoted as saying "Rome is burning, and we need to find a way to address it."

SDA, CML and CCI are actively opposed to the three ballot issues. SDA has worked with Colorado Counties Inc., Colorado Municipal League, the Colorado Association of School Boards, bond attorneys and local government financial officers, to create tools districts can use to assess the quantitative and qualitative impacts of these three initiatives on your community. Some of those tools can be found HERE, and were sent to all SDA members.

An overview of Amendment 60, 61 and Prop 101 can be found HERE
