Changes to SDA’s Online Transparency Notice Form

Many districts are interested in updating their Transparency Notice on the SDA website to reflect the names of the new board members following the recent special district regular elections on May 4, 2010.

At the time that you initially posted your notice, the board elections were on the horizon, and it made sense to provide electors with details such as the name and address of the DEO and where electors could obtain and submit self-nomination forms.

However, now that the elections are behind us, some of the information in the original Transparency Notice form seems a little outdated, such as listing February 26, 2010 as the deadline for self-nomination forms, and asking whether each board member office is going to be on the May 2010 Ballot.

Therefore, the SDA Transparency Notice form is undergoing a little “facelift” so it will reflect that the next regular elections are not until May 8, 2012, and other related revisions.

Also gone are the questions asking about the year of the mill levy and the year of the tax revenues and the questions about whether each director office is for a two-year or four-year term.  These details are not mandated by SB09-087, as codified in section 32-1-809(1)(a-i), C.R.S., and seemed to be a source of confusion for some.

These updates to the Transparency Notice form are currently being programmed into SDA’s website, and after that, will automatically appear the next time you login to your Notice to make any updates.
