This morning, SDA Executive Director Ann Terry joined representatives from George K Baum and Company, The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, The Colorado Association of Municipal Bond Dealers and Coloradans for Responsible Reform at an informational meeting to discuss the campaign opposing Proposition 101 and Amendments 60 and 61.
Special District service providers who attend this meeting learned how these issues will affect special districts, the campaign strategy and how individuals and businesses can offer the support needed to finance the statewide campaign.
The proponents of these 3 issues have yet to officially come forward, but evidence points to Douglas Bruce as the creator of these measures. Doug Bruce has denied being a part of the initiatives, but a Colorado administrative court today found that Bruce was among a group of people involved in putting the issues on the ballot. Attorney General John Suthers also asked the court to hold Doug Bruce in contempt of court because the State has been trying to get him to serve about his involvement in 60, 61 and 101. The AG’s office has made 30 attempts to serve Bruce, but have so far been unable to.
