Petition Against Amendments 60,61 and Proposition 101

Coloradans for Responsible Reform have launched a petition drive against Amendments 60 and 61 and Proposition 101. Petition signers will join fellow Coloradans to defeat these deceptive and ill-intentioned initiatives and affirm their commitment to work with family, friends and co-workers to protect Colorado's economy, teachers and small businesses.

SDA Conference Hotel Registration Deadline Approaching!

The 2010 SDA Annual Conference September 22-24 is a little over a month away, and lodging accommodations at the Keystone Resort are starting to fill up!

If you have not already booked your hotel room or condo for the conference, please do so quickly!

The group reservation deadline to take advantage of our discounted rates, is Friday, August 14,2010.

District Board Members and Elected Government Officials Invited to Attend Ballot Initiatives Informational Meeting

SDA invites all special district board members and other elected government officials to attend a Local Government Officials Forum regarding Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101.

SDA Award Nominations due July 26, 2010!

The deadline for submission for the 2010 SDA Award Nominations is next week!  SDA will only be accepting nominations until 6 pm on Monday, July 26, 2010. SDA will be accepting nominations for Distinguished Board Members, Distinguished Managers and a new award for special district collaboration.

The Special District Collaboration Award will recognize districts that have created successful working relationships with other local governments.

Online registration for the 2010 SDA Annual Conference in Keystone, CO September 22-24, 2010 will be available on the SDA website next week!

This year SDA has chosen to invest in our Colorado talent by featuring several national speakers --- that just happen to be from Colorado.  You will enjoy Ruby Legner Newell, find Tim Gard hilarious and for all of you Bronco fans, you will be even more impressed with Reggie Rivers as a motivational speaker than with his fame in the NFL.

Impact Survey on Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101

 SDA has previously sent member districts an impact analysis to fill out and return to SDA, which would evaluate the direct effect of Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101 on your district. These evaluations are extremely important as SDA and the Don’t Hurt Colorado campaign continue to fight these dangerous ballot initiatives.

Individually 60, 61 and 101 are crippling, but if all three issues pass, it would be catastrophic for local governments as well as the business community and Colorado’s public schools.
